This is a regular series within TOKYO BOUND blog to share short weekly updates of my journey.

Highlight of my week?

I started school on Thursday and it is a lot more rigorous than I thought! Met other older students who are in the same position as me – started working but thought to take a break to study the language.

What have I learnt this week?

Firstly, how Japanese businesses love confirmation and reservations all via LINE. Secondly, how hard Japanese work for them to work through weekends and even public holidays. My classmates have classes on the upcoming public holiday, meaning, the teachers work as well!

One of my favourite places for 焼き鳥:Toritake.

What could I have done better?

Having better time management and schedule. I was rushing my deadlines and forgot to eat. Additionally, having back-to-back classes in Waseda starting from early-morning means I should try to have a heavy early breakfast.

Peace at Waseda after my classes for the week (Felt chilly).

What am I grateful for this week?

Having a network of people here with me. I do have friends I can consult for homework or even basic phrases.
