This is a regular series within TOKYO BOUND blog to share short weekly updates of my journey.
Highlight of my week?
Went for my first dental cleaning up and managed to get through cleaning and changing of my braces all in simple Japanese. Also managed to go through two tests and two presentations in the same week.
What have I learnt this week?
Seeing tests and presentations as ‘check-in’s on my progress instead of a be-all-end-all examination really changes the approach I have towards the language.
What could I have done better?
There are still moments where I beat myself up over mistakes, but more often than not, nothing is ever really that crucial. I can be kinder to myself.
What am I grateful for this week?
It is the holiday season in Singapore and so many friends and colleagues head down to Tokyo and have been catching up with them. Everyone has been very supportive of my learning journey, be it the language, or my personal development.
